If you are planning to go away for the weekend, then a house that needs cleaning should never keep you. But also, you don’t want to leave your home in disarray because, to be honest with you, there is nothing that can snap you out of your relaxed state than coming home to a mess that needs to be cleaned. But do you know what you can do? Come up with a week-long cleaning schedule that spans from Monday to Friday, and free up your weekend. Remember, the aim of this schedule isn’t a deep clean, you are just looking to get your home into a level of cleanliness that will make you happy to come home to after a long weekend. So, let’s take a look at how the schedule would look like;

Monday – scrub the bathroom

It is always recommended that you start with the hardest task on the toughest day of the week. On Monday, the focus is to clean the most labor-intensive areas of the bathroom such as washing the shower door, scrubbing the grout, and also cleaning around taps and drains. With a scouring scrub, a natural bathroom cleaner as well as an air spray, your bathroom will be squeaky clean and smelling good.

Tuesday – de-clutter

On this day, purpose to go through your entire house putting away all the mess that might be lying around as well as those things that you don’t need. Start with the living room, towards the bedroom and the kitchen. Everything that is not where it is supposed to be, get rid of it.

Wednesday – scrub the kitchen

Wednesday is kitchen day! It isn’t easy but you can do it. Now, you will want to clean the most difficult things first – like removing the junk off your fridge, stovetop, oven, and other appliances. You will just need to wipe the surfaces over the course of the week.

Thursday – dust, and wipe

On this day, all you need to do is to wipe up used surfaces in the house, including the ones you’ve already cleaned. Using a natural cleaner and a microfiber cloth, start with the surfaces that you decluttered on Tuesday.

Friday – finishing touches

On Friday, just walk through the house, cleaning all the spots that you might have missed as well as any other areas that have accumulated some dirt over the course of the week. All you need is an all-purpose spray cleaner and a microfiber cloth, and in some instances, a vacuum cleaner.
